AeriCam VPX flew in Yankee Stadium!!!
Our new addition, AeriCam VPX (Video Pro Xtreme) was flown by one of our customer on his High Profile Video Commercial inside Yankee Stadium with an 8.5lb SI-2k Mini Camera at 25.5lbs total flying weight. Thus, he have successfully film with Panasonic 170, Sony EX1 and now the SI-2k Mini. Here are some photos of the VPX inside Yankee Stadium.
The VPX is a simpler Roll and Tilt design for flybarless, and flybar version will soon follows. Advantages of the VPX are that it has less moving parts on the gimbal, result in less vibration, more aerodynamic than 3 axis setup, lighter, more compact, and better weight distribution. Disadvantages are that it requires better piloting skill as panning have to be done by turning the whole helicopter.

We usually spend the last day at PhotoPlus hunting the aisles for unusual products we haven’t seen before and this year came across a cool new remote controlled mini helicopter for shooting aerial footage. Called the SkyShutter Aericam, the robo-copter differs slightly from other similar unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV) we’ve written about before because of its unique, lightweight erector-set design.
